Sons of head of Balakhani administration taken into custody until June 7

In Dagestan, Magomed and Khaskil Yakubov, sons of the head of the administration of Balakhani village of the Untsukul District, are suspected of arms trafficking. According to the court's decision, they are taken into custody until June 7. This was reported by the advocate of the arrested brothers.

The detention of the sons of Magomedrasul Yakubov, the head of the administration of Balakhani village, was reported on May 13. The brothers are suspected of illegal possession of weapons, and "no official charges have been filed against them," Gadji Gadjiev, the arrested brothers' advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent in the evening of May 14.

"They are being kept at the Makhachkala SIZO (pre-trial prison) under arrest. Their arrest ends on June 7," the advocate has said.

Officials from the Kirov ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala have refused to comment to the "Caucasian Knot" on the criminal proceedings against the Yakubov brothers.

Meanwhile, a source in the investigating bodies of Dagestan has told the "Caucasian Knot" that the Yakubov brothers are also suspected of aiding and abetting members of illegal armed formations (IAFs). However, the appropriate charge has not been filed against them yet.
