Prosecution states Amirov's intention to put Kaspiysk Mayoralty under control

At the trial held in Rostov-on-Don of the ex-Mayor of Makhachkala Said Amirov, the prosecutor claimed that the motive for Amirov's actions was his desire to put his nephew Yusup Djaparov into the administration of Kaspiysk. At the session on May 12, the prosecutor said the "land issue" was behind the terror act committed on April 2, 2011, in the "Moskva" Shopping Centre in Kaspiysk.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Said Amirov is a defendant in the case of the murder of investigator Arsen Gadjibekov, the head of one of the investigating departments of Makhachkala, committed in Kaspiysk on December 14, 2011.

According to the prosecutor, it was planned to merge Makhachkala with Kaspiysk; therefore the cost of land in Kaspiysk had to grow several times. For the land allocation, Amirov needed "his person" in the Mayoralty of Makhachkala; and Yusup Djaparov could become such person, the "Kommersant" writes.

According to the prosecution, Said Amirov tried to get his nephew to be elected as Mayor of Kaspiysk, but this was prevented by Saigid Murtazaliev, the chairman of the Dagestani branch of the Russian Pension Fund, who helped Djamalutdin Omarov to become the Mayor.

Amirov himself called the prosecution's version a "fiction."
