Vyacheslav Starodubets claims delay of investigation into case of his beating
Vyacheslav Starodubets, an author of the materials about Derbent, has claimed that investigators fail to react to his numerous complaints and delay the investigation into the case of his beating.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 5, in Derbent, Vyacheslav Starodubets, an author of the popular Facebook page "Pearl of the South" devoted to Derbent, the former coordinator of the project "My Derbent", the press officer of the Museum-Reserve "Naryn-Kala", was beaten by people in masks. He was hospitalized with multiple injuries and bruises. Vyacheslav Starodubets associates the attack on him with a number of resonant posts in his blog about the corruption among top-ranking officials of Derbent.
Today, Vyacheslav Starodubets has claimed he is dissatisfied with the progress of the investigation into the case of his beating.
"The forensic examination has been carried out only five days after the attack. They carefully pushed forward a person, whom I was supposed to recognize; however, I told them at once that I never saw him. Meanwhile, when I ask the investigator to give me for recognition photos of bodyguards of a top-ranking official of Derbent, he failed to respond. I have filed a complaint to the Chief of the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). In my complaint, I have challenged the investigator. Till present, I got no answer," Vyacheslav Starodubets has told the "Caucasian Knot".
