Residents and guests of Armenia bring flowers to "Tsitsernakaberd" memorial for second day

For the second day, residents and guests of Armenia continue to lay flowers at the "Tsitsernakaberd" memorial in Yerevan and pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Armenian Diaspora marked the day of April 24 as the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923. The year of 2015 marks the 100th anniversary since the beginning of that tragic event. On April 24, Yerevan hosted a torchlight procession. On April 23, Armenia canonized 1.5 million victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire in 1915-1923.

Today, starting from the early morning, residents of Armenia and foreign visitors come to the memorial to pay tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Starting from early April, photojournalist Srapion Gevorgyan took part in the flash mob initiated by the charitable foundation "Tigran Mets" and dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

According to Srapion Gevorgyan, as a part of the campaign, the activists unfolded 100-meter Armenian flags in different cities of the world. The photojournalist has added that for three times, the police in different countries "tried to stop the flash mob." "However, after learning about the purpose of the action, the police not only gave permission for its implementation, but also helped in its organization," photojournalist Srapion Gevorgyan has said.

He brought the Armenian flag to a number of cities, including cities of the Czech Republic, Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Western Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, etc.
