Alexander Tkachov's protégé to lead Krasnodar Territory

Veniamin Kondratiev, an acting head of the Krasnodar Territory, is likely to become a plenipotentiary governor of the region after the September election. This opinion was expressed by experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". They believe that Veniamin Kondratiev is a person from the team of Alexander Tkachov, the former leader of Kuban.

On April 22, Alexander Tkachov, the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, resigned, and on the same day, he was appointed the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, according to the official version, to enhance the Ministry. Veniamin Kondratiev was appointed the Acting Governor of the Krasnodar Territory.

According to Gennady Podlesny, the President of the Krasnodar Centre for Applied Sociology and Political Science, Veniamin Kondratiev is the "best candidate" for the post of the leader of the region.

According to the expert, the appointment of Alexander Tkachov the Russian Minister of Agriculture can be treated not as a promotion of the former leader of the region, but as a desire to remove him from the Krasnodar Territory.

For many years, the Krasnodar Territory experiences political stagnation. This opinion was expressed by political analyst Alexander Kynev, the head of the regional programmes of the Foundation for development of information policy. The expert has also noted that in the period when Alexander Tkachov led the Krasnodar Territory, the pressure on rights defenders and ecologists has reached the scale unprecedented for other regions of Russia.
