MCC leaves Tamerlan Eskerkhanov under arrest
The Moscow City Court (MCC) has left in custody Tamerlan Eskerkhanov, a defendant in the case of the murder of politician Boris Nemtsov.
According to the Court, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov is to stay in custody until April 28. His advocates have filed to the MCC a complaint about their client's arrest.
The Court has found unreasonable the arguments of the defendant's defence that involvement of Tamerlan Eskerkhanov in the crime has not been proved, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports. The Judge has agreed with the position of the investigators, who spoke against the change of the pre-trial restriction measure to the defendant.
Meanwhile, the investigators still believe that the murder of Boris Nemtsov was committed by order, and no motive of religious hatred was added to the investigators' version. "The murder of Boris Nemtsov was committed by a hired group of people," the RIA "Novosti" reports with reference to an investigator.
Earlier, the Basmanny District Court has scheduled for April 24 the consideration of the extension of the Tamerlan Eskerkhanov's arrest. The Court has also granted the request of the investigating authorities and extended the arrest of Anzor Gubashev.
