Administration of Makhachkala mosque treats detention of Ibadullo Nabotov as unlawful
The case against Ibadullo Nabotov, a staff member of a Dagestani mosque, who was detained on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons and narcotic substances, was fabricated. This was stated by the administration of the mosque, where the detainee worked.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 17, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala placed under house arrest Ibadullo Nabotov, a budun of one of the mosques of the Dagestani capital, detained on suspicion of possession of a grenade and narcotic substances.
According to the official statement of the Juma Mosque administration, on April 14, Ibadullo Nabotov was detained after he was summoned to a local ROVD (District Interior Division). "A grenade and drugs were planted to him on his way to the Soviet ROVD," the statement declares.
In the statement, the mosque administration also notes that Ibadullo Nabotov was "forced to incriminate himself" and calls his detention "arbitrariness".
According to advocate Murad Mallaev, Ibadullo Nabotov will stay under house arrest till the indictment is filed.
Izzat Amon, the head of the Union of Tajik youth in Moscow, has urged the society to defend the detainee.
