Russian MIA completes investigation into case of preparing terror act in Moscow

The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has completed the investigation into the criminal case against 14 natives of Chechnya and Dagestan, accused of plotting a terror act in Moscow in late 2013. This was reported by a source in the law enforcement bodies.

According to the source, a suicide bomber was to blow himself up in a crowded area of the Russian capital.

After completion of the investigation, 14 arrested natives of Chechnya and Dagestan were finally charged under Article 30 and Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (an attempt of terrorism), Article 222 (illegal possession of ammunition), and Article 223 (improvising of an explosive device), the "Rosbalt" reports.

The investigators have revealed that a group of defendants conspired to organize a terror act with the aim of killing and terrorizing the population. Besides, the examination has also revealed that the explosive substance seized during the investigation was identical to the one used in the terror act committed in Volgograd in 2013.

All the defendants deny their involvement in the preparation of the crime and possession of weapons and claim they were planted to them.
