Mikhail Abramyan hospitalized after his arrest in Stavropol

In Stavropol, activist Mikhail Abramyan, who was arrested for seven days, was hospitalized after sentencing. While leaving the courtroom, he lost consciousness.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 11, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Stavropol found Mikhail Abramyan guilty under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (disorderly conduct) and sentenced him to a seven-day arrest.

"When he was taken out of the courtroom under police escort, he fell on the floor and lost consciousness. An ambulance was called. It is unknown how long Mikhail Abramyan will stay in the hospital. However, it is the fact that the time he spend in the hospital is included in his sentence term, that's for sure. Guards watch him, and they replace each other in shifts," said Dmitry Pechinsky, a Mikhail Abramyan's party colleague.

The incident that caused the Mikhail Abramyan's arrest occurred in the morning of April 11. According to the resolution of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Stavropol, Mikhail Abramyan pushed a man to his chest and used foul language in a conversation with him. As a result, the Court found Mikhail Abramyan guilty under Part 1 of Article 20.1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced him to seven-day arrest.

Shortly before his arrest, Mikhail Abramyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he received threats from the law enforcement bodied of Stavropol. They asked him to "leave the city in a good way" or otherwise, he would be "closed (imprisoned)".
