Asya Khandokhova fears provocations after power agents cordoned off shop in Baksan (+video)

Asya Khandokhova, a resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, has claimed being subjected to pressure by power agents during the incident with blocking of a shop in Baksan. The young woman has also added that she fears provocations in her address.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported on April 7, power agents cordoned off a shop selling windows and doors on the corner of Lenin and Revolution Streets. According to local residents, there was an unidentified young woman inside the shop. According to Ibragim Sultygov, a lawyer of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", Asya Khandokhova, blocked in the shop, was a widow of a local resident killed in a special operation. The young woman was set free after questioning by the police in the presence of an advocate.

On April 8, Asya Khandokhova filed a complaint about the incident to the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for Kabardino-Balkaria, the Prosecutor's Office of Kabardino-Balkaria, the HRC "Memorial", and the Russian office of the "Amnesty International" (AI).

Inside the shop, the police found and seized a package with religious brochures and leaflets, which, according to Asya Khandokhova, was planted to her. The woman has claimed that the power agents demanded from her to the explanation letter stating that those books belonged to her.
