Prosecutors ask to sentence three defendants in Sheikh al-Chirkawi's murder case to life imprisonment

A public prosecutor has asked the court to sentence to life imprisonment three defendants in the case of the terror act committed in the house of Sheikh Said Afandi al-Chirkawi in Dagestan. Besides, the public prosecutor has asked the court to sentence the fourth defendant to 15 years of imprisonment.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Shikhmirza Labazanov, Magomedali Amirkhanov, and Magomed Gadjiev, residents of Dagestan, are accused of training Aminat Saprykina, a suicide bomber, who blew up the Sheikh's house, under Article of "Terrorism" and Articles of banditry and arms trafficking. Fourth defendant Akhmed Israpilov is charged with banditry, arms trafficking, and kidnapping for ransom.

The public prosecutor has reminded the court about the charges against the defendants and stated that "during the trial, their guilt had been completely proved."

"I ask you to recognize the defendants guilty of the crimes imputed to them and sentence Labazanov, Gadjiev, and Amirkhanov to the maximum punishment life imprisonment. And I ask you to sentence Israpilov to 15 years of imprisonment in a common-security penal colony," the public prosecutors has asked the court.

Defendant Magomedali Amirkhanov has stated that he was "not involved in any criminal groupings", but he was "engaged in business".

Defendant Magomed Gadjiev has asked the court to "free him from the terrible charge of the terror act."

The advocate of defendant Akhmed Israpilov has noted that "all the charges against his client are based on the unfounded assumptions," and that the evidence base "was obtained with violations."

The Judge has announced a break in the trial until April 21.
