Astrakhan woman suspected of beating her three-month daughter

The woman was detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to her three-month daughter.

According to investigators, at night on April 2, 2015, the 25-year-old resident of Astrakhan, while in the state of alcoholic intoxication, inflicted "a lot of punches to the head and torso of her three-month daughter."

"The baby with broken skull roof and base, broken ribs and severe brain contusion was hospitalized to the regional hospital named after N. N. Selischeva," Andrei Khegai, a Senior Assistant to the Head of the Investigating Department, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The baby is in grave condition, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the above hospital.
