Advocate claims violation of rights of native Ingushetia in Zelenograd SIZO

The defender of Abdullah Getagazov, a native of Ingushetia, states that his client is illegally kept in the SIZO (pre-trial prison) of detention facility No. 12 of the city of Zelenograd. The SIZO bosses refute the statement.

Abdullah Getagazov is accused of committing a robbery in the city of Khimki. His advocate Adnan Iskhakov has revealed at least 16 violations committed during the investigation of the case and complained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the prosecutor's office ignores these violations.

"On February 25, I filed a complaint to the Khimki City Court against the inaction of prosecutors and investigators; and then strange things happened. They stopped notifying me about investigatory actions. My client is told that I fail to come to such actions; and each time they provide him with an appointed advocate. My complaint directed to the court has disappeared," said Adnan Iskhakov, adding that Getagazov has been kept in SIZO for about two months.

"His relatives told me that his complaints are torn down right before his eyes; and his guards tell him that his complaints will be sent nowhere. The defendant had appealed to the head of Ingushetia; and violations were confirmed; and the investigating authorities were instructed to eliminate them. This is stated in the resolution of the prosecutor's office about a partial satisfaction of the complaint of January 19, 2015. However, nothing has been eliminated – the prosecutor's office fails to supervise the fulfilment of its decisions," said the lawyer.
