In Dagestan, residents of Untsukul District report on motion of military vehicles in CTO area

Till present, the introduction of the counterterrorist operation (CTO) regime in the Untsukul District of Dagestan has no immediate impact on local residents. Meanwhile, starting from March 30, the local residents observe a significant increase in the number of law enforcers in the vicinity of the village of Gimry, and they report that some of military vehicles are sent to the mountains.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 2, regime of counterterrorist operation was introduced in the Untsukul and Gergebil Districts of Dagestan.

"Today, the situation in the district has been quiet. We did not even know about the introduction of the CTO regime, since no one announced that and no one told anything to us," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told in the evening of April 2 by Aminat Magomedova, a resident of the village of Vremenny of the Untsukul District.

However, the woman has noted that "people have been seriously frightened" by a large number of military vehicles in the district.

In the morning of April 2, some of the military vehicles left the vicinities of Gimry towards the Gergebil District of Dagestan, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by a local woman, who introduced herself as Patimat.

According to the woman, when villagers made an attempt to get explanations concerning the reasons for the introduction of the CTO regime from one of the law enforcers deployed near Gimry, they were answered that "was not a CTO, but a military training."

Officials from the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division) have confirmed to the "Caucasian Knot" the fact of the introduction of the CTO regime in the Untsukul District. Meanwhile, the ROVD spokesman has denied the information about the possible military training in the Untsukul District and said he had never heard about that earlier.
