Russians have more trust in Kadyrov

The number of Russia's residents, who express trust in the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, has increased by 22% as compared with 2006, said the "Levada-Centre".

The question "Can you trust Ramzan Kadyrov?" was responded positively by 55% of respondents, and negatively – by 21%. In December 2006, the same question was answered positively only by 33% of respondents, while 36% expressed mistrust in Kadyrov. Besides, there is a reduction in the number of those who have not decided on their attitude to Ramzan Kadyrov. In 2006, 32% of respondents found it difficult to answer whether they trust him or not; but in the recent survey there were only 24% of such respondents.

More and more people treat the situation in Chechnya as peaceful and calm; and 33% of respondents believe that this is a result of Kadyrov's activities. In April 2007, there were 18% of such respondents; and in November 2011 – only 13%. Only 3% of respondents are sure that Chechnya will separate from Russia, while in 2007 the figure was 11%.

The survey was conducted by the "Levada Centre" on March 20-23, 2015, by means of the representative nationwide sampling of urban and rural population, which covered 1600 respondents aged 18 and up from 134 dwelling settlements of 46 regions of Russia.
