In Dagestan, advocate Sapiyat Magomedova complains against investigators to Prosecutor's Office and ICRF

Advocate Sapiyat Magomedova has claimed the arbitrariness of investigators with regard to Rashid Magomedov detained in Dagestan, and she filed a complaint to the Prosecutor's Office and the Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). According to investigator Khalil Khalilov, investigators acted under the law.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 6, a search was conducted the house of Rashid Magomedov in the village of Komsomolskoe of the Kizilyurt District of Dagestan, during which law enforcers found a grenade. According to Sapiyat Magomedova, the grenade was planted during the search.

According to the advocate, the detention protocol was issued only by 3:00 a.m. at night of August 7.

"The man was just kept without explanations from 7:00 a.m. until late night. Besides, my client claims that the weapons rounds and a grenade were planted to him. When he was brought to the police department, he was beaten there. They demanded from him to admit that all the weapons belonged to him," says Magomedov.

In his turn, investigator Khalil Khalilov has reported that Rashid Magomedov was detained in the course of verification of operational information.

On August 6, in the Kizilyurt District, three local residents were detained on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons. This was reported by a source in the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

"A criminal case was instituted against Rashid Magomedov under Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal possession of weapons). The other two residents of the Kizilyurt District are being prosecuted under the same Article," the source has reported.
