In Tbilisi, UNM rally attended by activists from all regions of Georgia

In Tbilisi, the rally of the "United National Movement" (UNM) Party was attended by participants from all the regions of Georgia. 5000 people came from the region of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, and each of the regions of Imereti and Adjara sent 2000 participants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 21, in the centre of Tbilisi, the "United National Movement" Party held a large-scale action demanding the resignation of the government. The organizers have reported that the event was attended by 50,000 people. According to other sources, the event was attended by about 10,000 people.

Alexander Giorgadze, a photojournalist of the newspaper "Tabula", believes the UNM rally was attended by at least 30,000 people.

The rally was opened by David Bakradze, the Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, the General Secretary of the "United National Movement" Party. In his turn, Georgy Bokeriya, one of the leaders of the "United National Movement" Party, spoke in support of political prisoners.

The participants of the rally demanded the resignation of the current government.

During the rally, activists organized the live broadcast, and the participants of the action were addressed by ex-Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, whose speech was broadcasted from Brussels. In his speech, he recalled the pre-election promises voiced by the coalition "Georgian Dream". He has added that "at present, the Georgian economy stagnates."
