In Sochi, members of Saveliev family face claim for eviction from empty cottage

In Sochi, the Road Department "Chernomorye" (Black Sea) has filed a claim to evict members of the Saveliev family of a vacant cottage occupied by them. The Saveliev family has lost the housing after their house was demolished in the interests of the Olympic construction, and the family members have announced their intention to file a counterclaim.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Saveliev family was evicted from a barrack, in which they lived in Akatsij Street, and the house was demolished because of the construction of the M-27 highway. According to Lyudmila Savelieva, the family of five, including two minors, has not received any compensation or housing. The members of the Saveliev family have sent an appeal to the Russian President and the Mayor of Sochi, in which they asked to provide them with new house to replace the one demolished in 2011.

Lyudmila Savelieva told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on March 17, she received a phone call from the Adler District Court of Sochi with a request to come to the Court to get the agenda and the claim filed against the Saveliev family.

"The plaintiff is the Federal State Institution (FSI) Road Department 'Chernomorye'. They demand our immediate eviction. However, we have nowhere to go," Lyudmila Savelieva has said.

According to the woman, till present, the family has not yet received any answer to their appeals to the Russian President and the Mayor of Sochi.

"Therefore, we will ask the Court to postpone the session until we get answers. The cottages were built for Olympic settlers and not for commerce or to be empty. We are Olympic evictees to nowhere. We will file a counterclaim," Lyudmila Savelieva has said.
