Makhachkala: mosque-goers detained en masse in Semender
Eyewitnesses have reported that power agents detained more than ten parishioners of the mosque located in the settlement of Semender in the outskirt of Makhachkala, adding that later all the detainees were released.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported about the detention by policemen on March 13 from 18 to 25 mosque-goers at one of the neighbourhood mosques of the Makhachkala settlement of Leninkent.
When believers began leaving the mosque in Semender, power agents arrived in several police cars and began check documents of all of those coming out; then, they put people into paddies and drove to some unknown place, said an eyewitness, who asked not to be named.
"According to my estimate, they detained about 15 people," he told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, adding that after the identification process at the police station all the detainees were set free.
