Ingush MPH finds no confirmation of ban on hijabs in medical college
The Security Council of Ingushetia is checking, jointly with the Ministry of Public Health (MPH), the information that teachers of the medical college in Nazran prohibit female students to wear hijabs. According to preliminary data of the head of the MPH, none of the questioned students confirmed the presence of any conflicts.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 2, the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov instructed the Security Council to check the complaints of female students of the medical college in Nazran that some teachers forbid them to wear hijab.
Shamsudin Bokov, the press secretary of Mr Evkurov, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that a check was underway of students' complaints. "The information is checked by the Security Council, the MPH and the Ministry of Education," he said. "So far, there are no final results."
According to preliminary data, one of the college teachers talked about the need to observe the uniform of the educational institution. "As far as we know, the ban to wear hijabs was not the point. The woman-teacher pointed out that the students' appearance should meet the one of the worker of a health facility," said Shamsudin Bokov.
