In Dagestan, policemen shoot and kill man who opened fire on them

This morning, an armed attack on policemen has been committed in the Babayurt District of Dagestan. The attacker was killed by return fire.

The incident occurred at about 5:00 a.m. Moscow time in the vicinity of the village of Khamamatyurt.

"An unidentified man opened fire on a police squad, and he was killed by return fire," said an official from the press service of the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

According to the source, no policemen suffered as a result of the incident, the "Interfax" reports.

A pistol was found with the killed man, and in the course of the search operations, a VAZ-21010 car was found near the place of the shootout. The policemen are to identify the owner of the car and his possible connections with the killed man, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.
