Case of Migaev, a native of Chechnya, sent to SC
The Supreme Court (SC) of Chechnya will consider the case of the local resident Mukhammed Migaev, accused of attacking in 2005 residents of the village of Roshni-Chu of the Urus-Martan District.
The attack on Roshni-Chu was committed at night on August 14, 2005, by several dozens of members of illegal armed formations (IAFs). The attackers burned down the house of Shamkhan Beksultanov, the head of the local administration. As a result of the attack, Alexander Kayaka, the military commandant of the Urus-Martan District, and four soldiers were killed.
According to investigators, in July 2005 Migaev came to Chechnya and joined an IAF. During the attack on Roshni-Chu, he was covering the main militants' grouping.
Migaev was detained on December 25, 2013, in the territory of Ukraine; and on March 26, 2014, he was given out to the Russian Federation. He was on the international wanted list since 2008.
Earlier, Migaev's relatives declared his innocence.
