Female suicide bomber who blew up bus in Nevinnomyssk in 2007 identified

The explosion of a bus in 2007, en route from Pyatigorsk to Vladikavkaz, was committed by a former resident of the Prigorodny District of North Ossetia, said a local law enforcement source.

On December 9, 2007, at the bus station of Nevinnomyssk, an explosion in an "Ikarus" bus was triggered, killing four out of 17 passengers, including a nine-year child; besides, 13 people were wounded.

"The woman, born in 1969, had linked her life with a member of the bandit underground, who took an active part in sabotage and terrorist activities. She moved to live in Ingushetia. Her husband was neutralized in February 2007 at rendering armed resistance to law enforcers; and the widow returned to her parents' house, but then, under demand of her husband's accomplices left the house and committed the terror act," said a source from the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

As noted by investigators, restoration of the external appearance of the suicide bomber by the remains found at the explosion site was impossible.

"The woman's identikit was compiled by victims' stories. Finally, a fragment of the upper jaw with a golden tooth allowed identifying the female suicide bomber," said the MIA source.
