Head of Derbent administration resigns

Mavsum Ragimov has left the post of head of the administration of the city of Derbent by submitting his resignation application. Azad Ragimov was appointed to be the acting head of the administration.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3 the Dagestani Prosecutor's Office reported that a check in the administration of Derbent had revealed facts of illegal disposal of land plots, which resulted in an infliction of damage to the state amounting to more than 36 million roubles. Officials from the Derbent Mayoralty have associated the prosecutors' claims with the pressure on the city Mayor Imam Yaraliev, against whom a criminal case was initiated.

The resignation of Mavsum Ragimov was reported by Telman Mukailov, the head of the legal department of the Mayoralty. According to his story, on February 13, Ragimov was invited to Makhachkala, and after a talk to the officials from the administration of the republic's leader, he wrote a resignation application.
