IED components found in the car of man killed in KBR
The man who was killed near the city of Nartkala at night on February 12 was identified as a 35-year-old resident of Nalchik. In his car, components of an improvised explosive device (IED), stuffed with dowels, were found by policemen.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the man was killed in the Urvan District in a shootout with policemen. According to the Russia's NAC, an IED was found in his car; and the man was engaged in extorting money from businessmen for militants' needs. Also, law enforcers suspect him of recruiting locals for the warfare in Syria.
According to the latest data, the incident occurred on February 12, at about 1:00 a.m. Moscow time in the second kilometre of the highway Nartkala-Urvan, where law enforcers carried out the actions aimed to reveal persons belonging to illegal armed formations (IAFs).
Policemen stopped a car driven by a local resident aiming to check his documents, but the latter opened pistol fire at them and was killed by return fire, says the website of the ID for the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) of the ICRF.
The policemen established that the man was a resident of Nalchik, born in 1980.
