MFA of Uruguay calls to recognize NKR's independence
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Uruguay has issued a statement calling on the international community to recognize the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).
The statement was made on January 4 after the meeting of Luis Almogaro, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay with members of the "Hay Dat" committee and Mario Nalbandyan, a member of the Bureau of the ARF "Dashnaktsutyun" Party.
"The Karabakh conflict should be resolved peacefully on the basis of the principles of nations' self-determination and territorial integrity of Armenia within the boundaries of its independent state in 1918-1920, prior to its Sovietization," says the statement the MFA of Uruguay.
The MFA has also expressed concern about the increasing number of ceasefire violations by the parties of the Karabakh conflict.
