Two policemen and one suspected militant killed in Dagestan

Two policemen and one suspected militant were killed in the shelling of a police squad in the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan. Two other law enforcers were wounded.

The incident occurred on January 6, at about 9:00 p.m. Moscow time on the highway Khasavyurt-Oktiabrskoe.

"The attack took place near the village of Oktiabrskoe. Unidentified attackers shelled the police unit from inside a Lada Kalina car," said a district law enforcement source.

According to his story, "two policemen died from their wounds in hospital, two others were wounded," the "Chernovik" has reported.

Law enforcers have identified the attacker, who was killed in the shootout, as Magomed Gamzatov, born in 1984, a resident of the village of Novogagatli, Khasavyurt District, as reported by the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF). Law enforcers are searching for his accomplices.
