Funeral of killed football player Gasan Magomedov takes place in Dagestan

Gasan Magomedov, a football player of the Dagestani "Anji-2" FC, killed in the village of Novokuli of the Kumtorkala District, has been buried. Friends of 20-year-old Gasan Magomedov assert that the young man was a gentle person.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Gasan Magomedov's car was attacked by unidentified gunmen in the evening of January 3. The young man died in hospital. Gasan Magomedov was killed not far from his house. Prior to his death, he called his family members and told them that he would be at home soon.

According to Murad Kurbanov, the captain of the "Anji-2" FC, Gasan Magomedov was a peace-loving and cheerful man, and he was not inclined to enter conflicts. Murad Kurbanov has reported that after the end of the last football season, Gasan Magomedov went to Moscow and then to Egypt, from where he returned only 2-3 days ago.

Investigators consider several versions of the reasons for the murder of the football player; however, there is still no priority version, the RIA "Dagestan" quotes Rasul Temirbekov, the spokesman for the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

The funeral for Gasan Magomedov was held in the afternoon of January 4, the "Southern Federal" reports.
