Levon Airapetyan hospitalized again because of health problems

Levon Airapetyan, a businessmen and notable member of the Armenian Diaspora in Russia, who is kept under home arrest in Moscow as a figurant in the "Bashneft" case, was urgently hospitalized.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Levon Airapetyan was detained on July 15 at one of Moscow airports  on suspicion of embezzling and laundering of criminal money, as well as of involvement in driving Bashneft out of state control. On July 17, he was taken into custody; and on October 3 transferred to home arrest. On December 8, it became known that investigators had sent a petition to the Moscow Basmanny Court for the extension of his home arrest. On December 10, the home arrest was extended until April 19; and the court session was held without Airapetyan's presence, since he was hospitalized with a diagnosis of "bladder cancer". On December 9 Levon Airapetyan was operated on; and after the surgery he stayed in hospital for a long time.

"He can't stay under home arrest; such patients should receive inpatient treatment," said Genry Bakunts, Airapetyan's attending physician, who added that his patient was hospitalized again on December 23. According to his story, the businessman has a tumour and problems with his heart, blood tension and diabetes, the "NEWS.am" reports.
