Missing resident of Dagestan identified by relatives among shootout casualties

Relatives of Pakhrudin Magomedov, a missing resident of the Dagestani village of Tyube, have found his body in the morgue of the city of Kizilyurt, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" has reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the 29-year-old Magomedov left home in his car on November 25. Since then, nothing was known about him, claimed his relatives.

According to rights defenders, who quote the police, Magomedov was killed on December 6 during a shootout in the vicinity of the village of Shushanovka, Kizilyurt District of Dagestan. On that day, police men tried to stop a Lada Priora car, but its passengers opened fire and were killed by return fire. One of the two killed persons was identified as Khabib Makhmudov – a brother of the earlier killed Qadi (Sharia judge) of the "Dido" grouping, said a local law enforcement source.

"According to his relatives, Pakhrudin Magomedov was visited Shamkhal Salafi mosque, but had no relation to members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) and had no conflicts with the police," says the release of the HRC "Memorial".
