The arrested Azerbaijani rights defender Rasul Djafarov has been charged with a forgery and a large-scale embezzlement. He rejects all the new charges and treats them as politically motivated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 2 Rasul Djafarov, the coordinator of the campaign "Arts for Democracy", was arrested for three months on charges of "illegal entrepreneurship", "tax evasion" and "abuse of power". On October 23, the Nasimi District Court of Baku extended the Djafarov arrest until February 2, 2015.
