Nalchik CTO increases number of victims to armed incidents in Kabardino-Balkaria since beginning of 2014 up to 46 persons

The today's counterterrorist operation (CTO) in Nalchik has become the 23rd armed clash in Kabardino-Balkaria and the 2nd case of the introduction of CTO regime in the Kabardino-Balkarian capital since the beginning of 2014.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that according to the law enforcers, this morning, in Nalchik, four militants were killed in a five-storey building as a result of the CTO.

The today's case of the introduction of CTO in the Kabardino-Balkarian capital has become the second one since the beginning of 2014. Earlier, the CTO regime was introduced in Nalchik on March 14. Then, according to sources in the law enforcement bodies, five suspected militants were killed as a result of the special operation.

According to the information about victims of the today's armed clash in Nalchik available at the moment, since the beginning of 2014, in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), in total, 63 persons fell victims to the armed conflict. Of them, 46 persons were killed and 17 others were wounded. The number of victims includes 2 civilians (1 was killed and 1 was wounded), 19 law enforcers (4 were killed and 15 were wounded), and, according to the law enforcement bodies, 42 suspected members of the armed underground (41 were killed and 1 was wounded). Besides, since the beginning of 2014, two sabotage and terrorist acts were committed in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic.

It should be noted that as of early December 2014, Kabardino-Balkaria was on the second place after Dagestan by the number of people who fell victims to armed incidents.
