Court rejects complaint of Kislovodsk Imam, demanding to initiate a case against an FSB agent
The Pyatigorsk Garrison Military Court has upheld the decision of the investigator, who refused to initiate criminal proceedings against an agent of the local FSB department, whose crime was reported by Kurman-Ali Baichorov, the Imam of Kislovodsk.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 29, 2013, Imam Kislovodsk Kurman-Ali (Kurman) Baichorov was accused of illegal possession of narcotic drugs. According to investigators, on October 17, 2013, inspectors of the road police (known as GIBDD) stopped his car, searched him and found a package with the drug. Kurman-Ali Baichorov pleads not guilty.
The Imam states that he was kidnapped, and narcotic drugs were planted on him; and FSB agent Filatov was involved. On October 28, the defence of Baichorov received the refusal of the military investigating department to open a criminal case against the FSB agent. Later, the refusal was found illegal by the Prosecutor's Office and sent for elimination of violations; however, on November 7 investigators again refused to initiate a criminal case.
On November 25, a judge of the Pyatigorsk Garrison Military Court left the complaint lodged by Baichorov's advocates without satisfaction, and upheld the actions of Abramov, G. S., an investigator of the 55th Military Investigating Division of the Military Investigating Department of the ICRF.
The defence of the religious figure did not agree with the decision of the court and intends to appeal against it.
