Grozny resident suspected of "honour killing"

In Chechnya, a criminal case has been opened against a 30-year-old local man suspected of killing his younger sister. Investigators do not exclude the version of an "honour killing".

According to investigators, the murder of the 27-year-old woman was committed on October 27 in the village of Chernorechye of the Zavodskoy District of Grozny.

"The man killed his sister by a blow on her head with a heavy object. After that, he brought the victim's body in his car to the quarry, where the buried the corpse. The killer was arrested a few days after his crime. Initially, he did not admit his guilt, but under the weight of irrefutable evidence he had to do it; though he committed the murder after a quarrel with his sister, being in a deranged state," said the prosecutor.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier about a criminal case against a resident of the Urus-Martan District, who was also suspected of an "honour killing". Then, a 19-year-old girl from the village of Tangi-Chu was found dead in the basement of her brother's house on November 23, 2013. In July 2014, the case arrived in the court. According to investigators, the murder was committed by the girl's brother, who decided that she behaved in an unworthy manner.
