Dagestani residents hold rally in memory of Eradil Asanov

Today, about 400 people gathered at a rally in memory of Eradil Asanov, who was shot dead at the building of the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Nogai District of Dagestan. The action took place in the village of Terekli-Mekteb, and its participants demanded to punish the persons responsible for the death of the young man.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 6, 22-year-old Eradil Asanov was shot dead at the ROVD located in the village of Terekli-Mekteb. According to the official version, he was detained on suspicion of murder, and at the ROVD, Eradil Asanov attacked a policeman with a knife and thus forced the policemen to use their service weapons. Family members of Eradil Asanov argue that the young man was shot dead, when law enforcers tried to force him to confess to the crimes he never committed.

People of other nationalities from the neighbouring villages arrived in the village to take part in the rally. The residents of the neighbouring villages have stated that they "stand in solidarity with the organizers of the rally" and that "they are always ready to stand beside them and support them."

Family members of the deceased man, their advocate, and Shamil Khadulaev, a member of the Public Chamber of Dagestan spoke at the rally. Relatives and friends of Eradil Asanov demanded to take into custody the person responsible for the murder of the young man.
