Leonid Tibilov instructs South Ossetian MFA to establish diplomatic relations with DPR and LPR

The South Ossetian President has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of South Ossetia to establish diplomatic relations with the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR, respectively).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 19, the President of South Ossetia signed a decree to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), and on June 27 - of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). South Ossetia has also recognized the legitimacy of the elections held in the DPR and the LPR on November 2.

"The South Ossetian MFA has received my clear instructions to establish diplomatic and other relations with those countries," stated Leonid Tibilov on air of the local TV Channel, as quoted today by the TASS.

According to Leonid Tibilov, by recognizing the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, South Ossetia has declared itself on the international scene "as an independent state with its own vision of the political processes in the world." "The people of South Ossetia passed along the same path as the people of Donbas," the "Interfax" quotes Leonid Tibilov as stating.
