Man killed in shootout in Dagestan

A car driver opened fire at policemen in response to their demand to stop, and was killed by return fire, Dagestani law enforcers assert.

The incident occurred in the evening on November 1 on the highway Makhachkala-Verkhniy Gunib. The casualty, not identified yet, was driving a Lada Priora car and, according to power agents opened submachine gun fire at policemen from inside the car.

The submachine gun used by the driver was on the search list, the "Interfax" writes with reference to republic's law enforcement bodies.
