109 children from Vremenny go to schools elsewhere in Dagestan

In Dagestan, children from families evicted during the special operation in the settlement of Vremenny of the Untsukul District were enlisted to go to schools in other towns and villages of the republic, where they had moved with their parents. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Labazan Magomedaliev, the head of the Education Department of the Untsukul District.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from September 18, a counterterrorist operation (CTO) is underway in Vremenny adjacent to the village of Gimry. At the very beginning of the special operation, law enforcers cordoned off the settlement of Vremenny. Most local residents left the village.

"At present, no civilians live in Vremenny. All of them were evicted. They are accommodated by their relatives throughout Dagestan and even Chechnya. The number of evicted civilians includes 109 schoolchildren. Most of them - 69 schoolchildren - go to school in the neighbouring village of Gimry. At present, 19 schoolchildren from Vremenny live and study in Makhachkala, 11 in Buynaksk, and the rest in Untsukul, Tsatanikh, and one in Chechnya," Labazan Magomedaliev has reported.

According to the officials, some children refuse to go to school. "They argue that they have no clothes and no books, since they left everything in Vremenny, from where they had been evicted very quickly, and they had not been allowed to collect their belongings," Labazan Magomedaliev says.

Let us remind you that on October 19, residents of Vremenny of the Untsukul District sent an appeal to Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov with a request to pay attention to their situation and to form a commission to check the facts of human rights violations committed by law enforcers in the CTO zone.
