Two suspected militants killed in Dagestan

In Dagestan, in the course of a special operation conducted in the Tlyaratin District, two suspected militants were killed, and one law enforcer was wounded.

The special operation takes place in the village of Charoda. Here, power agents began their activities after they received information about a possible presence of two armed persons involved in the armed underground, said the spokesman for the Information Centre of the Russian National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

According to his story, the suspects were detected in one of the houses of the village; they were offered to surrender; however, they opened fire on special soldiers. As a result, one of them was slightly wounded.

There are no victims among civilians; however, during the shootout, a fire broke out in the room, where the suspects were hiding, which has already been extinguished, the ITAR-TASS reports.

Power agents do exclude that the fire could be triggered by the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED), the "Interfax" reports.
