Policeman wounded in special operation in KBR

In the Prokhladnoe District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), where on Friday power agents carried out their special activities and killed a man who opened fire on them, a policeman was wounded.

The special operation was conducted near the settlement called Uchebny. As a result of a shootout, as stated earlier by KBR’s law enforcement source, the gunman was shot dead; one, one policeman was wounded, and another one was contused.

The incident occurred when the police tried to detain an alleged militants’ helper, who rendered armed resistance by opening pistol fire and throwing a grenade, the ITAR-TASS reports.

One special-force agent was slightly wounded, said the spokesman for the press centre of the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC), as quoted by the "Interfax".
