Rostov-on-Don to open polling station for electing Ukrainian MPs

On October 26, Russia will open six polling stations, where citizens of Ukraine will be able to vote for candidates for the MPs of the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine. One of the polling stations will work in Rostov-on-Don; and in the voter list includes about 9000 people.

The polling station will work in the building of the Consulate General of Ukraine. This was reported by Vitaly Moskalenko, the Consul General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don.

The official has added that the polling station in Rostov-on-Don welcomes Ukrainians living in the Southern Federal District (SFD) and North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), and the voting will take place on October 26 from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Moscow time, the "Interfax" reports.

In Rostov-on-Don, the Consulate General of Ukraine is located in No. 28/40, Khalturinsky Lane, the "Ukrainian Pravda" reports. The newspaper notes that in the territory of Russia, Ukrainians will be also able to vote in the cities of Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Novosibirsk.

It should be noted that as of October 18, since the beginning of hostilities in the territory of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DNR and LNR, respectively), 222,800 Ukrainian citizens appealed for refugee status and temporary shelter in Russia. 193,800 Ukrainians were granted asylum, the RIA "Novosti" reported with reference to the press service of the Federal Migration Service (FMS) of the Russian Federation.
