Deputy of Tabasaran District Assembly killed in special operation in Dagestan

Ramis Mirzakhanov, a Deputy of the Tabasaran District Assembly of Dagestan, was killed during a special operation. According to investigators, he attacked a law enforcer with a knife. However, his brothers have reported today that OMON (riot police) agents opened fire at Mirzakhanov without a warning.

According to investigators, Ramis Mirzakhanov hid a relative in his house, involved in the armed underground.

At 4:30 a.m. on October 15 Mirzakhanov's house was blocked. Seeing power agents around, Ramis Mirzakhanov came out and attacked them, injuring an OMON agent with a knife, said the spokesman of the ICRF.

The ICRF asserts that Mirzakhanov was killed by return fire, while the sheltered militant managed to escape, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.

However, Mirzakhanov's brothers have reported today that OMON agents "shot him dead without warning" and after the incident "refused to give explanations," the "Chernovik" reports.
