Dagestani residents ask Russian President to take control over Eradil Asanov's murder case

Family members of Eradil Asanov have sent appeals to the Russian President, the Dagestani leader, and the Russian General Prosecutor asking to take under personal control the case on the death of Eradil Asanov. Besides, the family members of the deceased young man have sent a letter to the Chief of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) and requested to pass it to the Investigating Department (ID) for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) of the ICRF.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 6, 22-year-old Eradil Asanov was shot dead at the ROVD located in the village of Terekli-Mekteb. According to family members of the deceased young man, Eradil Asanov got a gunshot wound, when law enforcers demanded from him to confess to crimes he never committed. The Police Lieutenant Colonel, the Chief of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Dagestan, is suspected of abuse of power that led to the death of the 22-year-old young man at the ROVD (District Interior Division) for the Nogai District. A criminal case was instituted against the Police Lieutenant Colonel on charge of abuse of power.

According to Rustam Adilgereev, a relative of Eradil Asanov, the appeals to the Russian President and Dagestani leader were sent on October 14.

"We ask them to take control over the case on the Eradil's murder. We want the person guilty of the crime to be punished. We demand to institute against the policeman, who killed Eradil Asanov, criminal proceedings under article 'murder' and not just under article 'abuse of power. We have not yet received any response to our letters," Rustam Adilgereev has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

Rustam Adilgereev has also stated that relatives of Eradil Asanov had hired an advocate. He is to cooperate with the investigators together with the coordinating board.
