Dagestan: Vremenny residents claim officials went to blocked settlement without them

On Thursday, 30 residents of the settlement of Vremenny of the Untsukul District of Dagestan gathered in front of the building of the Gimry village administration with a plan to enter their home village. However, it became clear that law enforcers and officials from the district and village administrations left for the settlement of Vremenny without the local residents.

On October 8, the Vremenny villagers reported on their agreement with the law enforcers. According to the agreement, today morning, they are to be allowed to visit their village to check their property.

According to Patimat M., a resident of the village, when the people gathered and began to call to the district administration and the Untsukul ROVD (District Interior Division), they found out that the group of officials had already left for the settlement of Vremenny.

"In a private conversation, one of the officials, who visited the village, told me that the law enforcers feared that we would be shocked by the real situation in the village. He said that our fears were confirmed that the property in the houses turned into mush," Patimat has noted.
