In Krasnodar Territory, "Solidarity" activist accused of extremism

In the Krasnodar Territory, Sergey Titarenko, a public activist from the Dinskaya District, a member of the movement "Solidarity", has been detained on suspicion of inciting extremist activity.

On September 26, Sergey Titarenko was arrested by the FSB, and on the next day, the pre-trial restriction in the form of detention in custody was pronounced against him. Sergey Titarenko was charged under Part 1, Article 280 (calls to extremist activity), of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent at the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Krasnodar Territory, which took up the control over the investigation into the case.

According to investigators, Sergey Titarenko was disseminating on the Internet public "calls for the violent change of the constitutional system of the Russian Federation."

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 25, the "Rosfinmonitoring" (the Russian Federal Service for Financial Monitoring) included Krasnodar oppositionists Darya Polyudova, Vyacheslav Martynov and Pyotr Lyubchenkov, who intended to hold on August 17 a protest action in Krasnodar against the Russia's policy towards Ukraine, in the official list of terrorists and extremists.

Like Darya Polyudova, who has been arrested earlier, Sergey Titarenko is being kept at the FSB SIZO (pre-trial prison). This has been told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by activists of the Kuban opposition movements.
