The case against Marina Baisultanova, a resident of Grozny, accused of severe beating of her stepdaughter, after which the girl fell into a coma, is sent to the court. Marina Baisultanova also faces charges of beating the older sister of the victim.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 19, the Grozny hospital admitted a four-year-old girl with closed craniocerebral trauma, fracture of forearm, thermal injury to the face and numerous bruises on her body. According to investigators, the girl was beaten by 23-year-old stepmother.

Marina Baisultanova is accused under two Articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation: intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm with cruelty against a person in a helpless state (Paragraph "B", Part 2 of Article 111) and beating (Part 1 of Article 116), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by an official from the Prosecutor's Office of Chechnya.

Although initially, according to the source, the young woman was charged only under Article 111, in the course of the investigation, law enforcers revealed new details of the incident that gave rise to filing additional charges against Marina Baisultanova.

"It was revealed that in the evening of the same day, when Marina Baisultanova beat minor Markha Yusupova, the woman also beat her other stepdaughter, the seven-year-old sister of the victim. The woman struck her multiple blows with a stick, and as a result, the elder girl got numerous bruises and blood stains," reported the official from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

He has added that the trial against Marina Baisultanova is to begin in the coming weeks.
