In Dagestan, wounded FSB agent is in grave but stable condition

Doctors estimate the health state of an agent of the Dagestani FSB, who has been wounded on Wednesday in Khasavyurt, as serious, but stable, an official from the FSB reports.

In the evening of August 19, in Toturbiev Street in Khasavyurt, unidentified persons opened fire on a FSB agent and also wounded a passer-by, who later died in hospital.

The FSB associates the attack on its agent with his official duties, stated the official from the Dagestani FSB.

He has also clarified that the search for the attackers has not been successful yet; however, the attack most likely involves members of illegal armed formations (IAFs).

The attack is under investigation in the criminal case on attempt of murder of a law enforcer and arms trafficking, stated an official from the Investigating Department for Dagestan of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).
