Advocate: three Buynaksk residents beaten at checkpoint by policemen in Dagestan

As reported by the lawyer Zulfiya Isagadjieva with reference to the victims, three residents of Buynaksk were beaten up by policemen, after which one of the victims was hospitalized. The Buynaksk GOVD (City Interior Division) denied this information, saying that two men who applied violence to a policeman were brought to them.

According to Isagadjieva, the 24-year-old Kamil Vakhiev, his mother and sister were beaten on August 16 at the exit from the village of Chirkey.

"Kamil with his mother Aishat and sister Rukiyat were on their way home to Buynaksk. At the checkpoint "Chirkey" they were stopped by policemen. Kamil's mother, who is now in hospital, said that three policemen checked their documents and asked in detail about their aim of coming to the village. According to Kamil, one of the policemen reacted to his indignation at the excessive checks by saying that he would do whatever he wanted. It Kamil's response that it was illegal, the policeman hit him," the lawyer told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to her story, Kamil's mother and sister got out of the car to stop his beating, but eventually they too were beaten.

According to the on duty officer of the Buynaksk GOVD, at this moment, the details of the incident are cleared out; and a decision will be made on whether to institute a criminal case.
