Mother of Dagestani native Ilmudin Gasanov asks FSB Director to help finding her son

On August 7, Niyarkhan Gasanova, the mother of Ilmudin Gasanov, a resident of the Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, who was kidnapped on June 20, appealed to Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Russian FSB. The woman asked for help in finding her son.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 20, according to eyewitnesses, in the village of Uzunotar, Khasavyurt District of Dagestan, Ilmudin Gasanov was kidnapped by unidentified persons. According to eyewitnesses, the act was committed by men, who arrived in an armoured Gazel car and later departed in the direction of Makhachkala. According to the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial", Ilmudin Gasanov's relatives had filed applications about his disappearance to the Prosecutor's Office and the investigating authorities. They believe that law enforcers are involved in the kidnapping. A criminal case was instituted on the fact of the Ilmudin Gasanov's disappearance under the article of "kidnapping".

In her appeal, addressed to the FSB Director, the mother asks for help in finding her son. "If he was killed, let them give out his body for burial. If not, let them say why they bring him to responsibility," the appeal states.

"Whatever police station or other body we address, everywhere they shrug their shoulders and say that Ilmudin Gasanov had never been brought to them. There are serious reasons to believe that the 'unidentified persons in camouflage' who kidnapped Ilmudin were law enforcers," Niyarkhan Gasanova told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
