Aslan Abashidze's supporters threaten with mass protest actions

Supporters of the leader of the Adjarian autonomy, Aslan Abashidze, threaten to stage mass actions of protest. As reported by the Novosti-Gruzia correspondent in Batumi, participants in the action in support of Aslan Abashidze that have been staged at Adjaria's administrative border on the Choloki River for four days announced it on Wednesday, April 28.

They accused President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili of taking aggressive actions against the autonomy's leadership and demanded that the confrontation between the center and the region be resolved in a peaceful way.

They said mass actions of protest would start in the autonomy if Mikhail Saakashvili did not change his policy towards the Adjarian leadership.
